Here's a useful tip if you need to do speed comparisons for loading web pages. Download Mozilla 1.1. In the status bar at the bottom it displays the number of seconds the page took to load. Or, if you don't fancy installing a whole new browser you can use this script for the Proxomitron proxy software.
(Incidentally, I just found out that Proxomitron breaks blogger.com.)

I'm on-call tonight so I can't really relax. It's always at the back of my mind that any second the pager is going to go off and I'm going to have to burst into action... So far, nothing tonight.
You may have noticed that I've slightly redesigned rossbrown.net - I just decided to make a couple of changes. I want to do more with my site, not sure what yet. I'm thinking of having a seperate blog for the links that I find. Every day there are a couple of good links that I want to pass on / keep. I thought if I took them out of this it wouldn't seem like such a shambles. But then, what would I write about?!
Finished my PAC file at work today. It's quite polished now, I'm quite proud of it really. Haven't touched programming in a good couple of years, but managed to get the hang of it again. It's made me think that maybe I should get more creative with the computer instead of feeding off everyone elses creativity. What to do? Bryce? Live? Flash? Or should I try my hand at a party trick in javascript? As usual, answers on a postcard please.
