Xmas has been and gone - this week has flown by. I went to see Mum & Dad for Xmas Day / Boxing Day, had a nice family Xmas with them. My Dad still hasn't bought a DVD player, so we had to use my Brother's to watch stuff. My Dad said he was thinking of getting one and I suggested he might like to have an all-in-one thing with surround sound built-in. As luck would have it, I am thinking of upgrading mine(!) so the deal was done. Next time I go down I will take my Pioneer DV55 system and he will buy me a DVD player to replace it. Then all I need is another pair of speakers, a centre and a sub and I'll be set. Or alternatively, I may re-visit the KEF eggs? Not sure at this stage. I will wait until we have moved anyway. The whole thing about getting rid of the Pioneer is due to space constraints and now I have the Denon 1802 receiver I can get away with any DVD player with optical out. No more doubling-up on speakers! Now I just need to do some research on DVD players....
I've hit a bit of a problem with Myst III. I have completed the three main worlds and there is just the final one to go. So imagine how frustrating it is to get that far and find out there is a bug in Narayan (the final world) that means the game quits whenever I get to a certain point. And what's worse is I am yet to receive any response from the support dept. And there seems to be quite a few people affected by this bug so I would really expect them to be working on a patch or something. But hey, lets just say I will think long and hard before buying Myst IV.
Candi arrives back tomorrow. I have to drive to Heathrow to pick her up. Looking forward to seeing her again, I hope she had a nice time. I thought I'd get loads done while she was away - in reality I didn't do anything except tidy the house and do a bit of shopping.
