Got my 120Gb Seagate drive yesterday, decided "there's no time like the present" and proceeded to upgrade the TiVo. I followed Steve Conrad's upgrade diary which is more relevant than Hinsdale's How-To for UK TiVos. It went well, except that when I printed the instructions out my printer chopped the end off a crucial instruction. That had me foxed for a few mintues. Also I had a bit of trouble with the jumpers on the drive, it didn't work when I set it to master so I wasted a few minutes finding out I had to set it to cable select for it to work. Anyway I've successfully tripled the capacity and it only took about an hour and a hundred quid. The drive is nice and quiet too, even if it is 7200rpm.
My desktop PC is still in bits from the TiVo upgrade so I am typing this on my Tosh laptop. The keyboard layout is different from the IBM I use at work so I keep hitting Fn instead of CTRL. Also the return key is a lot smaller so I am hitting PgDn a lot. Grrrr.
Looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. It's been a bit hectic over the last few weeks so it will be good just to relax. The weather is set to be nice so I feel a BBQ coming on...
I'm toying with the idea of making a mix of some tracks, not entirely sure what exactly yet, but so far I'm thinking along the lines of 'ground breaking tracks'. For example Moby / Go, Orbital / Chime, The Orb / Little Fluffy Clouds, basically anything which made me change the way I thought of music.
We've just finished watching the final episode of Celebrity Mole Hawaii on Challenge TV, very good it was too. I won't ruin it if you haven't seen it, but I wasn't 100% sure who the mole was right up to the last minute. I do like that programme, it's more psychological than most game shows.

Well I thought I would write something, since it has been the hottest day of the year. My mate at work has a bet on that temperatures will be higher than 100 degrees, he stands to win 500 if it happens. Unluckily for him, I heard that it only got to 98.5 today. Still damn hot, unfortunately (or luckily) I spent the vast majority of the day in an air conditioned office. Then I had to drive over to the other side of town to pick up a parcel only to find I had gone to the wrong place. One of those "I wish I had checked" moments. Doh!
Candi's sister has just flown out to Kuala Lumpur. I checked the weather earlier, apparently they're set for max temps of 87 and a strong chance of thunderstorms. We, on the other hand, are set for glorious sunshine and 93 degree heat. Ah well!
